Canadian brand Malté are on a mission to create high quality natural body care products using upcycled spent grain from local microbreweries. By doing this, they give a second life to brewery waste, while maximizing the unique benefits of spent grain on the hair and skin – all without the smell of beer!
A microbrewery can produce an average of 70 tons of spent grain per year (that's about 14 elephants!). At Malté, they aim to provide a solution for brewers looking to dispose of this material. Partnering with local microbrewery Gaspard Brasserie Artisanal, this so-called waste is transformed into active ingredients for the Malté natural body care line.
But that’s not all – Malté’s mission aligns perfectly with our own. Collaborating on a sustainable new venture, Malté are now our official partner in Canada, manufacturing our upcycled spent grain active Barley TONIQ® using local resources.
Rich in proteins, peptides, polypeptides, amino acids and carbohydrates, Barley TONIQ® works to soothe and rebalance irritated skin, even at low use levels.
